It’s a new year and thank the gods for that. 2020 was a trash heap dumpster fire of a year that we never need to talk about again. I’m thinking about what I want to do this year. Not in the way of setting resolutions because I’m not about that. Or goals, either. The problem is that I have an all or nothing mentality so if I make a small misstep, then I decide I might as well give up completely. It’s not a healthy mentality, but I know myself well enough to realize it’s the way I work.
But, that doesn’t mean that I don’t have ideas. I always have ideas so I might as well share them. One. For NanoWriMo, I set the goal of writing 100,000 words, which I met. That meant writing roughly 3,000 words a day, which I’ve been doing for the most part since then. (Like a few days off over the holidays ‘most part’.) As for the blog, I’ve decided that I’m going to open it up this year. In the past year, I mostly wrote certain topics on certain days, but this year, I’m trying something less rigid. I’m normally a follow-the-rules kind of gal, but not this time. Or rather, I’m mostly a rules kind of gal unless I decide a rule is useless. Then, I don’t care. But it’s after I put in a lot of work.
I’m going for open in this case because I’m tired of trying to shove posts into predetermined categories. I’d rather write about whatever I want whenever I want. It may end up being the same in the end, but there’s more freedom this way.
